Wildlife and Habitat

Arizona's wildlife faces growing challenges as human development expands across the state. Roads, communities, and fences create barriers that fragment critical habitats, while drought and landscape degradation further threaten wildlife. These pressures disrupt migration corridors essential for species such as mule deer, elk, and pronghorn, making it harder for them to access food, water, shelter, and breeding grounds. Without action, these species may lose their historic ranges, putting their long-term survival at risk. At the Arizona Wildlife Federation (AWF), protecting wildlife and their habitats is at the heart of everything we do. We work tirelessly to conserve Arizona's rich biodiversity, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience the wildlife that makes our state unique. Our commitment to protecting wildlife habitat and preserving connectivity across landscapes is key to safeguarding Arizona’s natural heritage. This includes promoting responsible wildlife management, which helps maintain balanced ecosystems and supports long-term conservation efforts. |
