All Afield Hike With AWF - McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Discover the wonders of Arizona's (and the nation's) largest urban preserve on our next All Afield Hike with AWF at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve! Spanning over 30,500 acres, this remarkable area is a testament to Scottsdale's commitment to conservation, thanks to a voter-approved sales tax that secured this biodiverse desert habitat. The preserve is supported by the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.

We'll be hiking the scenic Lost Dog-Ringtail Trail, a 2.4-mile loop featuring gradual ups and downs with a mild 250-foot elevation gain. Along the way, we'll stop at the Lost Dog Overlook, a site of ancient tool-making history with breathtaking southern views.
