Camping is Fun!
This workshop is a great way to learn how to plan for camping and what equipment to bring. We will teach you how to use the gear you already have, or you can borrow a tent and a cot.
There will be two person canvas tents and cots available. You will need bedding. This is a great time to bring to bring your own gear. We will help set it up! All other equipment will be provided by the staff. A detailed list of gear that you may wish to bring is available here.
You will have the opportunity to participate in some traditional camping activities. There will be archery, hiking, cornhole, stargazing, geocaching and a propane campfire.
Round Robin discussion – Each instructor will show/tell you how they get ready to go camping.
How to Pack
Staying organized at your campsite is important for a variety of reasons. Knowing where to find your gear can help keep you safe in case of an emergency. Proper storage helps you avoid attracting wildlife to your site and habituating them to humans. Good camping storage ideas can also save you time, ensuring that you don’t spend the bulk of your trip unpacking and repacking, unpacking, and repacking.
Meal Preparing
Without a doubt, the most stressful part of camping is the meal planning and grocery shopping. This is especially true if we are camping for more than just the weekend. To save you some sanity, learn who to plan meals plan to include exactly what you need….and nothing of what you don’t.
