Letter to be sent: We urge you to support recent legislation that will inspire us to use our American ingenuity to create jobs in renewable energy, conservation, and wildlife management. Supporting climate legislation can help bring new growth industries to our cities and rural communities and help bolster a more resilient economy. Addressing climate change now ensures a prosperous future for our state for generations to come.
Hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike have been, and remain today, the backbone of North America’s monumental success in conservation and wildlife management. Our livelihoods in Arizona are in the outdoors, so we are concerned with climate change and its impacts on our outdoor spaces, our fish and wildlife, their habitat, and the outdoor recreation that drives Arizona’s economy. Temperature increases, more frequent wildfires, and less wildlife lead to less public participation in outdoor recreation which means less money for our state. We ask you to help keep Arizona an outdoor destination by supporting legislation that helps us to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
Current federal efforts to conserve fish and wildlife are having dramatic results, but they fall far short of what is needed for helping wildlife survive climate change. Work is needed now to ensure future generations can enjoy our state’s beautiful public lands and unique wildlife.
As conservationists, outdoor enthusiasts, and sportsmen, we believe we have a moral responsibility to confront climate change, to protect our outdoor heritage, and ensure its future for generations to come. |
